How to create, list, edit, and delete standard work schedules for non-shift staff in WorkClock HQ.
Schedule
Use Schedule to define standard working hours for non-shift staff. These schedules are assigned to employees whose employment type is not shift-based.
Open it from Company Settings > Schedule, or go to /company-settings?tab=schedule.
What The Schedule Page Shows
The schedule list displays:
- Work schedule name.
- Clock-in time.
- Clock-out time.
- Employment type.
- Edit and delete actions, if you have permission.
If no schedules exist, the page shows No Schedules Created with an Add Schedule action.
How To Create A Work Schedule
- Open Company Settings > Schedule.
- Click + Add Schedule.
- Review the schedule limit indicator if it appears.
- Enter a Schedule Name, such as
Regular Office Hours. - Select Clock In Time.
- Select Clock Out Time.
- Select an Employment Type.
- Select the Work Days the schedule applies to.
- Click Create, or click Create and Add Another if you need to add more schedules.
Time Picker
Clock-in and clock-out times use a picker with:
- Hour.
- Minute.
- AM or PM.
- Apply button.
Select the time and click Apply before saving the schedule.
Employment Type Rules
The standard Schedule form excludes shift employment types. Shift staff should be configured in the Shift area instead.
Use Schedule for:
- Full-time staff.
- Part-time staff.
- Contract staff.
- Interns or permanent staff, depending on the employment types configured for your organization.
Use Shift for:
- Shift-based staff.
- Rotating weekly patterns.
- Staff whose work days and times change by roster.
How To Edit A Work Schedule
- Open Company Settings > Schedule.
- Find the schedule in the table.
- Click the edit icon.
- Update the name, clock-in time, clock-out time, employment type, or work days.
- Click Update.
How To Delete A Work Schedule
- Open Company Settings > Schedule.
- Find the schedule in the table.
- Click the delete icon.
- Read the warning.
- Type the required confirmation text:
DELETE Schedule Name. - Click Delete.
Deleting a schedule can prevent users assigned to that schedule from clocking in until another schedule is assigned to them.
How To Prepare Schedules Before Adding Employees
- Confirm staff employment types in Company Details.
- Create one schedule for each working pattern.
- Confirm each schedule has the correct work days.
- Add or edit employees and assign the correct schedule.
FAQs
Why is a shift employment type missing from the schedule form?
Shift employment types are intentionally excluded. Use Company Settings > Shift for shift-based staff.
Why can I not create another schedule?
The active subscription may have reached its work schedule limit, or your user may not have schedule creation permission.
What happens if I delete a schedule assigned to employees?
Affected employees may be unable to clock in until they are assigned another valid schedule.
Can one employment type have more than one schedule?
Yes. Create separate schedules when the same employment type has different working hours or work days.
