How to configure monthly lateness thresholds and administrator notifications in WorkClock HQ.
Lateness Policy
Use Lateness Policy to monitor repeated lateness and notify selected administrators when the allowed monthly threshold is exceeded.
Open it from Company Settings > Lateness Policy, or go to /company-settings?tab=lateness-policy.
What The Lateness Policy Controls
| Setting | Purpose |

| Active / Inactive toggle | Enables or disables lateness policy tracking for the organization. |
| Allowed Lateness Threshold | Number of times an employee can be late per month before an alert is triggered. |
| Notify Admins | Administrators who should receive the lateness alert email. |
The monitoring period is monthly.
How To Create Or Update The Policy
- Open Company Settings > Lateness Policy.
- Toggle the policy to Active if you want tracking enabled.
- Enter the Allowed Lateness Threshold.
- Select one or more administrators under Notify Admins.
- Click Save Policy or Update Policy.
Allowed Lateness Threshold
The threshold is a number from 1 to 30.
Example:
- If the threshold is
3, the employee can be late three times in the month before the alert condition is exceeded. - If the employee is late more than the allowed threshold, selected administrators receive an alert.
Notify Admins
Only active organization administrators appear in the notification selector.
Select the managers who are responsible for attendance follow-up, such as:
- HR manager.
- Operations manager.
- Branch supervisor.
- Attendance administrator.
How To Disable The Policy
- Open Company Settings > Lateness Policy.
- Turn the policy toggle off.
- Save or update the policy.
When inactive, lateness policy tracking is not enforced for alerts.
Operating Advice
- Choose a threshold that matches your attendance culture.
- Start with a practical number, then adjust after reviewing attendance reports.
- Select more than one admin when attendance follow-up is shared across departments or branches.
- Keep the policy active only when the organization is ready to act on the alerts.

Is the lateness threshold daily or monthly?
Monthly. The policy uses a monthly monitoring period.
Who receives lateness alerts?
The administrators selected in Notify Admins.
Why can I not save the policy?
The allowed lateness threshold is required. Your account may also need permission to update organization settings.
Can I change the threshold later?
Yes. Update the number and save the policy again.
